Reflective roof coatings are used around the world to decrease the temperature of roofs, which can substantially enhance occupant comfort, lower cooling cost for building owners, and potentially mitigate urban heat island effects. Polymer selection is key to keep the roofs white by ensuring effective asphalt bleed-through and dirt pickup resistance.
In this webinar, learn more about ASTM D6083 standards and the purpose of each specification and the relevance of solar reflective index (SRI). The presentation will also outline how each of the components in a coating formulation contribute to cool roof coating performance, with a focus on resins, and how a new all-acrylic resin for reflective white coatings can help coating manufacturers provide high quality coatings that go on white and stay white.
Based on extensive research, EPS 2210 was specially designed for use in reflective roof coatings to meet ASTM D6083 Type II standards with low temperature flexibility at -10° C. In addition to meeting this standard specification, this waterborne all-acrylic polymer offers customers excellent asphalt bleed-through resistance, high water vapor permeability and outstanding dirt pick-up resistance.
