in-cosmetics Latin America – the continent’s leading event for personal care ingredients – will return to Brazil this September with a brand-new exhibitor line-up and educational programme. Thousands of beauty and personal care professionals from across the world are set to gather in São Paulo from 18-19 September, looking to network, learn and discover the very latest industry trends and innovations.

Offering unparalleled insight into the future, in-cosmetics Latin America 2019 will provide an extensive educational programme through its Marketing Trends and Technical Seminars, as well as its Innovation Zone and more, providing a place to learn from the industry’s leading experts.

Market trends

Free to attend, the Marketing Trends sessions will give R&D professionals and cosmetic chemists exclusive insight into the latest facts, figures, market analysis and research data that defines the industry.

Elton Morimitsu, Senior Analyst at Euromonitor International, will give an overview of Latin America’s haircare market and share his thoughts on current consumer behaviour in a session titled Haircare in Latin America – trends and opportunities.

Defining the future of ‘natural’ products

Attendees can learn more about the Opportunities in natural products in Latin America via a talk from Juliana Martins, Senior Beauty and Personal Care Analyst at Mintel.

On the back of its ‘Sharing Beauty with All’ sustainability program, L’Oréal Brazil’s Fabiana Munhoz will showcase the company’s eco-design and tools for sustainable innovation on sustainability.

Make-up trends: from gender fluidity to mental wellbeing

In From macrotrends to make-up: How evolving lifestyle needs influence product trends, Fernanda Pigatto, International Marketing Director of Beautystreams, will explore how to define make-up for everyone in a modern world, including how gender fluidity influences product development.

With growing consumer interest in managing and improving physical and mental wellbeing, Andrew McDougall of Mintel will outline some of the key ways the beauty industry can make people feel as good as they look in Beauty Mood Matters, such as bringing mood-enhancing properties to new product development.

The Marketing Trends theatre will also offer visitors the chance to learn more about the fragrance market through specialist seminars including Sue Phillips, International Fragrance Expert and CEO of Scenterprises Inc.

In a presentation on the future of skincare, Bruna Ortega, Beauty and Fashion Expert at WGSN, will use exclusive research methodology to identify key themes driving today’s beauty industry such as new ingredients, antipollution, inclusion and digital wellness.

Technical seminars

This year’s educational programme also includes a strong line-up of technical seminars, where professionals from raw material suppliers will share knowledge on the science behind their ingredients. Each talk will deliver in-depth knowledge supported by scientific evidence to substantiate any claims, as well as giving attendees hints and tips on how to get the most out of the ingredient to meet specific consumer demands.

In LEAPlex Granules: Bond-building agent for damaged hair, Sigfredo Gonzalez, Global Applications Development Leader – Personal Care at Momentive Performance Materials, will share key research that explains how LEAPlex granules can penetrate the hair shaft to increase wet elasticity and fortify hair.

Following the non-gender disruptive trend, Oriol Vendrell of LipoTrue S.L. will enlighten attendees on Meiview™ – a Mediterranean active ingredient for non-gender eye care beauty.

Two further technical seminars will also consider the important role ageing plays in the personal care market. New in ageing conversation: pro-ageing, lifestyle-oriented & positive offer, by Anna Momméja, Beauty Care Active Ingredients Expert at SEPPIC; and Victória Esteves of Givaudan Active Beauty LATAM will reveal the company’s New breakthrough to reverse hair greying: Darkenyl™.

Florian Lecuroux of Stéarinerie Dubois will present the results of the company’s extensive research work on natural 100% biodegradable alternatives to petrochemical-based emollient esters, such as dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, isohexadecane or light liquid paraffin.

Also providing delegates with an additional opportunity for learning, the Technical Workshop will return across both days of the show. The initiative, from ABIHPEC (Brazilian Association of the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Industry) in partnership with in-cosmetics Latin America, will have renowned specialists covering the following theme: “Cosmetics and Innovation in a digital and diversified world”.

Experts in cosmetic regulations will also gather for the free-to-attend CASIC Regulations Conference to discuss the present and future regulations challenges in Latin America.

Shining a Spotlight On

To help visitors stay abreast of industry trends and ahead of their competitors, in-cosmetics Latin America returns with the ever-popular Spotlight On area that showcases the hottest ingredients currently available in the region. This year, the feature will focus on haircare, skincare and formulations.

Carefully curated to help R&D professionals uncover the industry’s hottest new ingredients and innovations that will provide inspiration for future formulations, in-cosmetics Latin America will launch the brand-new Innovation Tours. The silent guided tours will be led by the show’s Technical Advisor, Cleber Barros.

Both will be available to guests as a printed guide, helping visitors to tailor their experience and navigate the event with greater efficiency to find business opportunities that support their company vision. Back by popular demand, The Fragrance Trail will return to assist attendees in identifying relevant fragrance suppliers exhibiting at the show.
