Responding to increased demand from consumers, the beauty world is continuing its march towards “green,” utilizing natural ingredients, sustainable packaging, and biodegradable formulas. According to Allure Magazine, almost two-thirds of Gen-Xers and three-quarters of millennials surveyed believe that buying green beauty products is important. But what, exactly, does it mean to be green?
This webinar will discuss the varied definitions of “green,” looking at particular drivers towards natural and naturally-derived personal care ingredients. It will explore the history of green surfactants and analyze a case study for replacing synthetic ingredients with natural alternatives in cleansing formulas, such as shampoos, body washes, and hand soaps. Lastly, it will provide insight into future green technologies and regulations, including the upcoming European and ISO Norms for naturality.
