The energy ingredients market today
Energy products serve a variety of purposes, often based on the amount of sugar they contain.
- Hypotonic products contain less than 4g sugar
- Isotonic products contain 4-8g sugar
- Hypertonic products contain more than 8g sugar
Products that can boost energy are offered in an assortment of formats:
- Energy shots
- Ready-to-drink beverages
- Energy supplements
- Energy drink powders or mixes
- Ready-to-eat foods like waffles and chocolate
Common energy ingredients include:
- Caffeine
- Taurine
- Guarana
- B vitamins
- Carnitine
