On January 10-12 in Dubai, the GPCA Plastic Conversion in partnership with SPE-ANTEC Conference will take place. The focus is “Evolving GCC Plastic Conversion: Technology meets Business.” Michèle Kint, Technical Marketing Specialist, The Chemours Company, will present on the optimization of white downgauged films.
Downgauging is an important trend in films for flexible packaging. A white layer is commonly included in these structures when there is a need for hiding package contents, for enhancing print appearance. In this presentation, Kint will explore how film properties such as defect counts, tensile strength and opacity respond to gauge reduction and pigment content. As gauge of the film gets thinner, it places greater demands on the raw materials that are used in the film and on processing conditions. Learn more in Dubai this week!
