Phthalates provide unique benefits for flexible, durable and resistant products. During this presentation, Raymond David, PhD, Manager of Toxicology for Industrial Chemicals in BASF Corporation, on behalf of the High Phthalates Panel of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), provided background and safety information on phthalates and outlines recent regulatory reviews of the chemical.
Phthalates are a large family of compounds with an array of properties that are used to soften plastics and make vinyl soft and pliant, in a wide variety of applications including: garden hoses and sports equipment, energy-efficient roofing, flexible adhesives and sealants, wire and cable insulation, flooring and wall coverings.
