Presented by The North American Flame Retardant Alliance (NAFRA)
Recorded on March 31st, 2022
Like most chemicals, flame retardants are subject to regulations around the world. The North American Flame Retardant Alliance (NAFRA) represents the world’s leading producers of flame retardants and is dedicated to improving fire safety performance in a wide-range of products. NAFRA is also committed to strong science-based chemical safety regulation, while also helping to protect that same population from the dangers of fire by promoting fire safety.
Published research illustrates that specific flame retardants do not present a risk to human health or the environment. Pressure has increased to deselect the use of flame retardant chemistries in products, driven by an increasingly uninformed anti-chemical sentiment. Unfortunately, claims by some individuals and organizations are leading to misguided proposals and policies. Rather than attacking the use of flame retardants, the focus should be on utilizing the appropriate safe chemistry — the right chemical for the right use.
Understanding regulatory drivers and misguided approaches is crucial for market access and success. Join us for a one-hour webinar to explore what the global regulatory landscape and how it is shaping the diversity of chemistry solutions coming to market, how you can help your company navigate regulatory complexities, and what collaborations will be critical to help ensure flame retardants receive proper review and remain available for critical product applications.
- Learn more about key regulations in North American, European and Asian markets;
- Explore the impact of current regulations on these markets and potential shifts in future rulemakings;
- Discuss the current challenges in global regulation and how to navigate these complexities; and,
- Examine how scientifically unsupported claims are threating these crucial chemistries and how a collaborative effort is critical to ensure they remain an option for product manufacturers.
