Powder coatings are used in all manner of applications including household goods such as fridges and freezers, aluminium extrusions for building components such as window frames, door frames and curtain walls as well as sports and gym equipment plus many more. Designers of these products demand the flexibility to apply a full range of finishes, which includes different textures and colours, but also, importantly, different gloss levels. Powder coatings can be formulated to deliver gloss levels from dull matte up to highly reflective glossy finishes. However, there are different technological challenges depending on the type of chemistry being used, which is usually linked to whether the coated article is to spend its service life indoors or outdoors exposed to the elements. Allnex’ Powder Coating Resins business unit offers a broad range of products which can be formulated to low gloss levels when cured with all the major crosslinkers, such as hydroxy alkylamide (HAA), triglycidyl isocyanurate (TGIC), epoxy resins and isocyanates. In this webinar, our powder coating resins experts, Dietmar Fink and Uwe Kubillus, will guide you through the various technologies allnex has available covering matte dry blend and one-shot matte approaches, plus they will outline our latest innovations to help you achieve your desired gloss targets.
