Presented by DuPont Mobility & Materials

Today’s consumers look for home appliances that deliver smart functionality, comfort, convenience, efficiency and striking designs – all while supporting sustainability. It’s a tall order for designers and manufacturers. However, DuPont’s extensive portfolio of engineered polymers help meet high consumer expectations by supporting accelerated innovation in home appliances on a global scale.

In this webinar, DuPont experts will discuss top home appliance challenges and the value provided by the company’s engineered polymers, including:

  • Metal replacement: Besides reducing weight, replacing metal with polymers can increase design freedom and simplify processing.
  • Lightweighting: The use of lower-density polymers and thin-wall designs improve appliance portability and ergonomics.
  • Noise, vibration & harshness mitigation: Advanced technologies reduce annoying operating sounds and minimize wear and friction.
  • Thermal & electrical management: Flame-retardant materials help ensure safety and reliability for unattended smart appliances.
  • Flexible solutions: Elastomeric materials add desirable haptics and durability, particularly in over-molding applications.
  • Sustainability: Recycled and bio-based content and non-hazardous materials contribute to OEMs’ environmental goals and address consumer concerns.

The webinar will discuss several polymers from DuPont’s broad portfolio of solutions for appliance applications, including Zytel® and Zytel® HTN nylon resins, Crastin® and Rynite® polyesters, Hytrel®, TPSiV® and Multiflex® thermoplastic elastomers, Delrin® acetal homopolymers and sustainable material solutions.

Our presenters will be Rong Luo, global marketing manager – Industrial & Consumers, Mario Martinez Farias, appliances application development leader – Americas, and Hans Kuchelka, appliances application development leader – EMEA, all from DuPont’s Mobility & Materials business.
