Textured hair care product claims substantiation: Demonstrating how straight-hair combing methodology can be adapted to accommodate the unique features and characteristics of textured hair
Chemically straightening textured (wavy, curly, and coily) hair has become less common. Women with textured hair are embracing wearing their hair in its natural state and are quite savvy when assessing hair care product ingredients. Over the last decade, changes in textured hair styling practices have resulted in:
- Relaxed hair care product sales declining
- An increased need for naturally-textured hair care products.
Dr. Monique Shauntá Wilburn will summarize how BASF is adapting straight-hair test methods, specifically combing, to support claims substantiation specific to textured hair care product ingredients.
