Recorded Thursday, December 3 at 2PM EST – Presented by Sun Plastech Inc
Present how plastics processors benefit from the use of purging compounds, especially used as part of a preventative maintenance program, to improve process efficiencies and reduce machine downtime and material waste, ultimately drive down costs.
This presentation will address common processing issues that can be resolved by using purging compound. Attendees will learn how adopting a “preventative maintenance” program using periodic purging can help save on changeover time, resin and purge material, and ultimately money. The unique benefits of using purging compound as a sealing agent during temporary or extended machine shutdowns, and the proven way that an effective purge can reduce or in some cases eliminate the need for labor-intensive, time-consuming screw-pulls will be addressed. Also, some of the preventable causes of product contamination issues and potential solutions will be presented. Finally, attendees will be introduced to the actual examples of cost savings attained using purging compounds.
Who should attend:
- Any injection molding or extrusion processors experiencing long changeover times.
- Processors with high scrap rates due to carbon or color contamination.
- Processors experiencing long and troublesome machine start-up’s due to contamination.
- Companies that do frequent machine overhauls (screw-pulls) due to contamination.
